Awards & Recognition
Dr. Friedlander is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine, one of the highest honors in health and medicine, recognizing individuals who have made major contributions to medical science, healthcare, and public health.
He has also been elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians, two of the nation’s most selective honor societies for physician-scientists. Election to all three organizations places him among a very small group of neurosurgeons recognized for exceptional contributions to academic medicine, scientific discovery, and clinical leadership.
He was also elected to leading honorific neurosurgical societies, including:
- The Academy of Neurological Surgeons
- The Society of Neurological Surgeons
He has served on the Advisory Council of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke and has received distinguished honors including the H. Richard Winn Prize and the International Charcot Prize.
